If you remember some of his classics, they are here. It's like going down memory trail.

Confused until recently
I had always thought he was saying "my girl Bill" like "my dog Spot" or "my brother John;" confusing despite the fact that "Bill" is a highly unlikely feminine name.

I get it now. He's not saying "My girl's name is Bill" but addressing a third party, "Bill, that girl is mine." Glad to have cleared that up.
